For the Love of the North Star Necklace

This Follow the Swallow designed For the Love of the North Star pendant necklace was inspired by our love for the North Star, Polaris.

 The North Star is a constant in the night sky and in the days before the invention of the compass sailors and explorers used the north star to help to navigate their way around the globe. As the North Star is directly above the North Pole it is always visible at night, unlike other constellations that moved over the night sky as the earth rotates. When plotting a path for a destination, navigating sailors drew a vertical line from the North Star to the horizon and that line signified due north, from there they could work out the directions of south, east and west.

This idea of navigation with the North Star can also be taken on a personal level. Only you can tell where is your North Star, your own path of purpose of meaning.

The heart is made from solid sterling silver with a single garnet.
